Workgroups
PSEC consists of four workgroups whose purpose is to identify, develop and implement strategies to achieve our short and long-term outcomes. The Collective’s Workgroups sprung from our Theory of Change, a guiding document to develop strategies and track progress. Learn more below about the current works plans of each workgroup:
Home and Community
Out-of-school time programs providing high-quality and culturally responsive STEM opportunities are accessible to all girls and Black and Latinx Philadelphia students.
K-12 Education
Philadelphia K-12 schools and postsecondary institutions work together, and with local employers, to formalize diverse pathways that recruit, immerse, and inspire Black and Latinx students and women to enter STEM fields
Post-Secondary Education
Philadelphia K-12 schools and postsecondary institutions work together, and with local employers, to formalize diverse pathways that recruit, immerse, and inspire Black and Latinx students and women to enter STEM fields
Work Environment
Philadelphia STEM employers have equitable policies and utilize best practices to recruit, hire, retain, and promote women and Black and Latinx
As part of a PSEC Workgroup you will have the opportunity to:

Participate in forums to discuss the issues surrounding this complex landscape and influence

Apply for funding to support activities that align with and advance PSEC's Theory of Change

Build your network with other academics, educators, non-profits, employers, government officials, students, community members and others working in STEM equity in Philadelphia

Get first-hand awareness of STEM activities, resources, learning and development opportunities throughout the city
